My Summer Staples

Summer in Florida is nearly year-round so having favorite pieces that are perfect for the hot weather is essential. I’m sharing just a few of my favorite summer pieces to combat the heat and look cute at the same time.

1. Sandals That Stand Out

Sandals are a must have during the summer months, easy to throw on when you have to leave quickly, and perfect for beach days. But I love sandals that are a little extra, I've been obsessed with this pair of embellished two strapped slide sandals I picked up from Target recently, I think they are so great for casual outfits, but can be dressed up by being paired with a wrap dress and a cute purse.

2. Hair Accessories

In this heat having your hair fully down is rarely an option, that's why I like to make sure I have a collection of hair accessories. I love headbands, scrunchies, and cute little hair clips, instead of just throwing your hair up into a basic ponytail or messy bun, you can use cute but actually functional pieces to make your updo adorable and keep you cool when the sun is out in full force.

3. Linen Shorts

I love good distressed pair of cut-off shorts as much as the next girl but, it's just too dang hot to be wearing denim. So, my go to this summer has been linen shorts, they are cute and comfy, and make the cutest casual outfit when thrown on with a basic tee, sandals, wicker purse and matching accessories.

4. Fun Sunglasses

Unique sunnies are one my absolute favorite ways to accessorize, I think they are so fun and can really make you standout. Obviously, it’s great to have a few basic pairs as well, but having some out of the box pairs can be so different and make a great beach day Instagram picture!

5. Button Front Tank Tops

I love this trend, I think the buttons make what would be a pretty basic shirt and elevate it, making a simple outfit incredibly adorable while still keeping cool. I recently picked up one from Marshalls that I totally love and have ordered a few from Amazon that I'm so excited about. They are so versatile, they look great paired with denim shorts, and paper bag and linen shorts as well, and are perfect to carry into fall and winter with jeans and a cardigan over the top.
